Bonhoeffer’s discussion of ethics demonstrates a shift in his thinking. In the earliest works, he appealed to “orders of preservation” as the basis for ethics. This appeal placed the emphasis on ethics in eschatology. Ethics, while still concerned with eschatology, differs in approach somewhat. It is not that eschatology is no longer important, rather in Ethics.
